Per Jim: "This image is from a series I call Emanation. By removing as much of the object photographed as possible; focusing on the purely subjective elements; and using only light, time and chemistry; something new emerges. Borrowing from H.P. Blavatsky in Isis Unveiled: “Emanation of the objective from the concealed, or subjective – passing from the abstract into the concrete....” Music – particularly what is called jazz - also plays an important role in how I approach my work, and all art for that matter. I believe that jazz is music's equivalent of an engaging conversation – you never know where it may take you. This work is intended to start just such a conversation among us. Let’s see where it leads.” https://www.instagram.com/p/DIRFaQ0tyxd/?igsh=MWN5NGFhdm9hYmY5eg%3D%3D
